The 49mm size is based on commonly used spice jar neck finishes in the market and was selected to support compatibility with a wide range of existing jar bodies. During mold development, thread interface and seating depth were defined to minimize fitting issues across different suppliers' jars. This standard size reduces the need for additional tooling adjustments and allows the cap to be integrated into established filling and packing lines with minimal modification.
